HeadlineCEA's Working Committees —
BodyText
"The work of CEA is conducted through four committees which report directly to the Board of Directors. The are:
1. The Site Selection Committee—
The CEA Site Selection Committee shall have as its primary responsibility the identification of primary sites for the planting of Christian Churches/Churches of Christ within Kansas.
- It shall become familiar with the various methods of church planting and be able to match the ""best"" method with sites selected for a church plant.
- It shall monitor the health of and assess the needs of the Restoration Movement across the state of Kansas. This committee shall be ""in the know"" concerning the religious climate and movements within Kansas.
- It shall maintain an up-to-date map which shows the location of every Christian Church/Church of Christ in Kansas.
- It shall identify those Christian Churches/Churches of Christ which are weak and struggling.
2. The Church Planter Committee—
The CEA Church Planter Committee shall have as its primary responsibility the identification and acquisition of church planters who will plant churches in Kansas.
- It shall become familiar with the various methods of church planting and be able to identify a candidate's strengths and weaknesses in each method. This will insure a good ""marriage"" of church planter and new-church-site.
- It shall become familiar with Bible Colleges and Seminaries which have courses of study for church planters.
- It shall identify those young men who are a part of existing Kansas Christian Churches/Churches of Christ who show promise of becoming church planters. These shall be recruited for education/training/planting of new churches within Kansas.
The Extant Church Committee—
The CEA Extant Church Committee shall have as its primary responsibility the screening of requests for assistance from already-existing churches within Kansas.
- It shall insure that all requests are in line with CEA's mission and purpose and with standard procedures for assistance before advancing such requests to the Board of Directors.
- It shall insure that all assistance, financial or otherwise, is used as the Board of Directors shall declare.
The Development Committee—
The CEA Development Committee shall have as its primary responsibility the bringing of CEA to the forefront of missions efforts among Christian Churches/Churches of Christ of Kansas.
- It shall maintain displays and printed materials for public viewing at missions fairs, conventions, etc. Whenever possible, these shall be accompanied by a member of the Board of Directors of Kansas CEA.
- It shall publish and distribute information on the work of CEA to all Christian Churches/Churches of Christ within Kansas. (This includes the establishment and maintenance of this web-site.)
- It shall acquire all documents of historical importance, collect and archive such documents, and become the ""historian"" and historical repository for the Kansas CEA."
